What this is

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is how an AI client calls external tools. Once it is connected, you ask Claude or Cursor "where does the PD-1 pipeline stand in China?" and the model actually queries the pharmaceutical database instead of answering from memory.

Stated up front so you do not spend money finding out. These three are not in the database and have no tool.

FAQ

How is the MCP interface different from your web app?

The web app takes a natural-language question and returns a structured research report, costing 150 credits. This interface exposes the database as 21 read-only MCP tools for your own AI client: JSON rows, no report, billed per call.

How much data comes back per call? Will it eat my context?

List tools return 20 rows by default with a hard cap of 50, and no response exceeds 32KB; detail fields are truncated at 4000 characters. Past the size cap you get response_too_large plus a hint to reduce limit or fields — never a truncated half payload presented as success.

Which clients are supported?

Anything that speaks remote MCP over Streamable HTTP, including Claude Desktop, Claude Code and Cursor. You need exactly two things: the endpoint URL and an X-API-Key header.

How do I get an API key?

Buy a card code on Xianyu, then redeem it in the form on this page to receive an mds- key. The key is displayed in full once; each card can only be redeemed once.

What happens when I run out of quota?

You get HTTP 429 with today's usage and the limit; the daily quota resets at 00:00 Beijing time. The trial card additionally has a 100-call total, after which you redeem a new card. Failed calls are not billed but are logged.

Can someone dump the whole database?

No. Our database account is read-only, there is no bulk-export or schema-export tool, list tools require a filter (bare calls are rejected), a page holds at most 50 rows and a response at most 32KB.

Where does the data come from?

Our own pharmaceutical database: 76K drug records, 480K global clinical trials, 26K China trials, 450K conference abstracts, 18K financing events, 25K investors, 4K BD deals, 27K drug patents, and drug sales across three tables from 2016 to 2024. The interface only reads; it never writes.
